Facials

Facials are a great way to renew your skin by removing old, dead skin cells. Facials can help smooth out your skin, unclog your pores, and improve your skin tone.

Facials can have many benefits for your skin, including:

  • Exfoliation: Exfoliation increases surface skin cell turnover and removes dead cells, which not only helps unclog pores and gives your skin a smoother-looking appearance, but it also can help your skin retain hydration and absorb products like moisturizers and serums.
  • Hydration: Facials can help hydrate and plump your skin.
  • Reduced hyperpigmentation: Facials can help reduce dark spots.
  • Reduced oil production: Facials can help reduce the amount of oil your skin produces.
  • Reduced appearance of fine lines and wrinkles: Facials can help reduce the appearance of fine lines and wrinkles.
  • Reduced puffiness and dark circles: Facials can help reduce puffiness around the eyes and dark circles by decreasing inflammation and improving blood & lymphatic circulation.
  • Reduced acne: Facials that include deep cleansing, extractions, and salicylic acid can help reduce acne by unclogging pores and eliminating acne-causing bacteria.

HydraGlow Facials

A HydraGlow Facial is a non-invasive, medical-grade facial treatment that combines cleansing, exfoliation, extraction, and hydration into a single procedure. It uses a vortex fusion technology to open pores, remove dead skin cells and debris, and infuse serums into the skin. The treatment improves the overall appearance of the skin, making it look healthier, more radiant, and clearer.

The HydraGlow Facial combines cleansing, pore extraction, and hydrating the skin, all in one treatment session. It is a unique facial experience that uses vacuum and water to deeply cleanse and exfoliate your skin, uncovering a new fresh layer of skin. Using gentle suction it removes impurities from the pores. It also permits tailoring the treatment to the your specific skin needs by adding serums to treat certain conditions, such as acne, hyperpigmentation, dry skin, and fine wrinkles. These serums often include salicylic acid (for acne), glycolic acid (for brightening), and hyaluronic acid (for moisturizing and for wrinkles). The HydraGlow Facial thus not only allows you deeply cleanse the skin but to simultaneously moisturize, brighten, and nourish the skin by infusing it with individualized ingredients, specifically targeting your skin problems, such as acne, aging, dry skin, and large pores.

During a HydraGlow Facial, a wand is used that works like a vacuum to open pores and extract impurities. The wand also allows serums to penetrate deeper into the skin. After the HydraGlow Facial, serums and treatment boosters may be added to hydrate and soothe the skin even more, and to reduce the appearance of wrinkles or acne. A HydraGlow Facial can take about 30 to 60 minutes, depending on the area treated, and it can be done on the face, neck, décolletage, and back.

Jelly Masks

After your Facial or HydrGlow Facial, a Jelly Mask can be applied. Jelly Masks contain ingredients that help treat certain skin conditions such as acne, aging, dry skin, hyperpigmentation, dull skin and large pores.

Chemical Peels

A chemical peel is a procedure that uses a chemical solution to remove damaged skin layers and improve the texture and tone of your skin. Chemical peels can be used on the face, neck, hands and back to treat a variety of skin conditions, including:

  • Acne or acne scars
  • Fine lines and wrinkles
  • Irregular skin pigmentation
  • Rough skin and scaly patches
  • Certain scars
  • Sun-damaged skin
  • Pores

There are different types of chemical peels, each with different acids that penetrate the skin to different depths and treat different skin concerns.

Chemical peels can be categorized by how deeply they penetrate the skin, which is determined by the ingredients used. Deeper peels can treat more severe conditions, while lighter peels are better for regular skin maintenance. These are some types of chemical peels done here at Monaco MedSpa:

The most common type of chemical peels are light peels that remove only the first few layers of skin and can help with mild to moderate scarring, hyperpigmentation, and fine lines.

Alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) peels are used to remove the outermost layer of skin and treat conditions like age spots, dry skin, wrinkles, and sun damage.

Glycolic acid peels are medium-strength peels that use glycolic acid, an alpha-hydroxy acid (AHA) derived from sugar cane. They penetrate the skin deeply and are effective for exfoliation (removing dead cells), fine lines, hormonal acne, and large pores.

Lactic acid peels are mild alpha-hydroxy acid peels that can normally be used on most skin types. They are light peels that exfoliate and brighten the skin.

Mandelic acid is an alpha-hydroxy acid that is commonly used in peels. It is less likely to cause discoloration or hyperpigmentation and therefore can be used on all skin types, including darker complexions. Mandelic acid loosens the bonds that adhere the dead or old skin cells to the skin surface. This helps shed old, drier skin cells to reveal new smoother skin cells. It is a light peel that exfoliates the skin.

A trichloroacetic acid (TCA) peel can be a medium-depth or a deep-depth peel depending on the percentage of TCA used. TCA peels remove the entire top layer of skin and some of the underlying layer. TCA peels can improve skin texture, tone, acne scars, fine lines, wrinkles and discoloration. They are indicated for lighter skin tones and require a skin consultation prior to treatment.

The most intense type of chemical peel are deep peels. They are usually only needed once and can help treat deep wrinkles and deep acne scars. However, they can cause redness and peeling that can last weeks and sun exposure must be avoided for months, especially during the healing period. These peels are not indicated for all skin types and they are not ideal for areas where patients cannot avoid sun exposure, such as Miami. A consultation is required to see if you are a good candidate for a deep peel.

Facial Masks

At Monaco MedSpa, we offer a variety of Facial Masks that help treat certain skin conditions:

These masks contain minerals like charcoal or clay that have a purifying, detoxifying effect. They are ideal for oily and acne-prone skin because they absorb excess oil and draw out impurities, leaving your skin feeling clean and refreshed. At Monaco MedSpa we love these detoxifying masks because they help clear out pores and thus minimize their appearance. Pores are hard to get rid off but by clearing out the debris inside the pores it minimizes their appearance.

Gel masks are great for sensitive or irritated skin. They contain ingredients like Hyaluronic Acid or Aloe Vera, which soothe, cool, and hydrate your skin.

Masks that are richly infused with Hyaluronic Acid or Glycerin offer deep hydration to quench your skin's thirst. They boast Sodium Hyaluronate, which is a derivative of Hyaluronic Acid that attracts moisture, Glycerin, Oat Milk Extract, and Cucumber Extract.

Masks with calming ingredients to help reduce redness, discomfort, and inflammation, containing Chamomile, Aloe Vera, Shea Butter, Allantoin are also excellent choices for dry or sensitive skin.

Those with dry and/or sensitive skin should avoid potentially irritating ingredients such as alcohol, sulfates, fragrances, harsh exfoliants, Benzoyl Peroxide, and parabens.

Masks that absorb excess oil and help regulate sebum production containing clay and charcoal are best for oily and acne-prone skin. Purifying masks containing Tea Tree Leaf Oil and micro-fine Pumice help your skin shine and promote a clear complexion by gently exfoliating built-up surface debris.

Medical grade in-office masks containing Salicylic Acid are a great way to treat a current acne break out. Salicylic Acid Masks are both purifying and calming and promote a clear complexion by combining key Ingredients such as Salicylic Acid (20%) – which is a calming lipophilic beta-hydroxy acid (BHA) that helps promote a clear complexion, Hydrolyzed Candida Saitoana Extract – which is a type of fungi that encourages skin detoxification, Cascarilla Bark and Wild and Sweet Cherry Extracts – which provide excellent calming and antioxidant properties, and Vitamin E (Tocopherol) – which is a fat-soluble antioxidant vitamin and emollient.

Masks with peptides, antioxidants, or Retinol boost collagen production and support skin elasticity. Since skin loses moisture as you age, hydrating masks are also excellent for maturing skin because they hydrate and nourish the skin while helping smooth out fine lines to give you a softer, smoother complexion.
