The Plasma Pen is an energy device that works by causing the treated skin to contract thereby vaporizing wrinkles. As the skin heals, it tightens the epidermis through fibroblast-induced collagen production, causing a rejuvenation of the skin texture, resulting in a smoother, more supple skin appearance over the next few weeks. 

Skin tightening treatments with the Plasma Pen occur via two mechanisms: vaporization of the wrinkle and fibroblast-induced collagen production. There aren't many treatments available that can address crepey skin in the crow's feet area, eyelids, arms, abdomen, thighs and neck or bar code lines in the upper lip/mustache area. However, this treatment is ideal to address those concerns in these areas.

Our Plexr Plasma Pen energy device can visibly improve the appearance of saggy, crepey skin and wrinkles on any part of the body. It is a non-invasive alternative to surgery and CO2 Lasers. And, unlike CO2 Lasers, the entire area of the skin is not burned off. Therefore, the recovery is much quicker and there is significantly less downtime than with CO2 lasers. It also doesn't carry the high risk of hyperpigmentation that CO2 Laser treatments do.

The Plexr Plasma Pen is a very safe, minimally invasive and effective type of treatment that utilizes plasma technology.  It is a FDA cleared medical plasma device. 

Plasma consists of ionized gas particles. The Plexr Plasma Pen device sublimates plasma in the air to produce a beam that causes vaporizartion of surface epidermal wrinkles in the outer layer of the skin, without causing damage to the surrounding or deeper structures of the skin. In doing so, the tissue underneath is protected whilst the surface of the skin contracts and heals in order to produce results. Healing is relatively quick, improving skin elasticity and resulting in skin smoothness.

Commonly treated areas are the upper and lower eyelids, crow's feet, perioral lines/smoker's lines, face, neck, abdomen, upper arms, inner thighs, stretch marks, seborrhoeic keratoses and scar tissue.

During your skin tightening session, the Plexr Plasma Pen will turn electrical energy into a stream of plasma gas, which will target the surface of your skin. Our team will personalize your treatment and determine the proper placement of these target dots before your treatment session.

As the plasma gas from our fibroblast tightening device comes into contact with the surface of your skin, your epidermis contracts and immediately tightens at the surface. In the deeper layers of your skin, the treatment stimulates the production of new collagen and elastin, giving you firm skin that gets even better over time.

No, there is no need for general anesthesia.

During your skin tightening treatment, you will be fully awake, conscious and comfortable as we do your treatment. Any minor discomfort is eliminated or minimized with the use of a topical numbing cream which is applied for 30 minutes before the procedure. Our compounded topical numbing cream is especially formulated by our physician and is extremely strong and effective.

For those of you who are anxious, very sensitive or experiencing any discomfort, we also offer Nitrous Oxide, a.k.a. “Laughing Gas” or “Dental Gas.” Most of our patients feel absolutely nothing during the procedure because our topical numbing cream is very strong, however, we do provide many analgesic and anesthetic options for those patients needing extra pain control. Our experienced physician will take great care of you to make sure you are extremely comfortable during the procedure. The “Dental Gas'' is self-administered, so you control how much of it you want. The effects of the “Dental Gas'' are brief and resolve completely within about 10 minutes after the procedure. You may drive home afterwards. All of our clients have the option to receive pain-free aesthetic gas procedures. We also can prescribe pain medication to be taken prior to the procedure for certain patients.

How long the procedure takes will depend on the area treated. Topical numbing of the area takes 30 to 60 minutes. Then the size and location of the treatment area will determine how quickly we can complete your fibroblast therapy. If you are targeting small areas such as the eyelids, your treatment time will be about 30 miniutes. For large areas of skin, such as the abdominal stomach area or thighs, your treatment time can be up to two hours.

Because there is no surgery involved in our fibroblast skin tightening treatment, there is no need to worry about taking any prescriptions for pain and discomfort. Your skin will heal and start to look normal in the week that follows, and it should only take 4 to 6 weeks before complete healing and rejuvenation are achieved. During this time, you will need to avoid direct sun exposure to the treated areas and wear a good sunscreen, hats or UV protective clothing if you need to go outdoors. You will be given detailed post-treatment instructions the day of your procedure.

The good news is that our Plasma Pen treatment can permanently smooth and tighten your skin. The results are long lasting. However, it does not stop the aging process. Over time, you will notice changes in your skin, because of gravity, pollution, and other environmental and genetic factors.

One session may be all you need, but multiple treatment sessions may be required. Treatments should be scheduled 6 to 8 weeks apart, and two to three treatment sessions may be necessary to obtain optimal results. Touch-ups every couple of years may be necessary due to the natural aging process.
